Hi, my name is Alex, and together with Nilas I am one of the 2024 Global Business Graduates. I come from Rome, Italy, where I got my BSc in Business Administration and Economics. Then I moved to Vienna for my MSc in Strategy, Innovation, and Management Control. There I had the chance to work on very practical projects with several companies through university courses, while also working part-time on the side. This allowed me to understand better what I liked and what I was better at, which guided my decision for the next step in my career.
In fact, I was very keen on finding a workplace where I could gain a lot of experience in different roles, and I could have enough responsibility from the start. This was exactly the impression that Demant gave me during the assessment center, and I can say that it was fully confirmed by my first month here. The company culture is very open, and everyone has the opportunity to speak up and present ideas, without pressure and limitations of hierarchy. Therefore, I am very happy about my choice to apply, and I feel grateful for having been selected.
My first rotation is in Marketing Analytics in Audika, the Hearing Care (retail) part of the business. This role gives me many insights into the funnel and the most important performance metrics that drive the success of the company, allowing me to develop technical and analytical skills, as well as a deeper understanding of the business implications of the numbers we look at and how we can interpret them as actionable insight to improve.
I moved to Copenhagen in September 2024 specifically for the new job, supported by the company with temporary housing for the first month and with bureaucracy processes, which made it possible for me to travel and enjoy my last summer as a student until the very last day. Moving is a big change and always comes with many emotions, but I already met many new friends, explored the city, and found many hobbies to fill my schedule during my free time.
